on closer inspection of the 1901 cencus given by spendlove that is defiantely your stephen as i can clearly read basket maker not shoe maker and as he has said right through the cencus basket maker i think we can say that is your man.
hope this helps?
regards
alli

Hi Everyone,
Sorry about the transcription error for 1901 Census it does clearly state Basket Maker
and not Boot Maker. Old age is my excuse for this week.

Do you think that Eliza and Ella are the same person, they have the same age
and County of Birth plus it does state daughter?

Spendlove.

Hi Alli and Spendlove

I am confused too!
The family is the correct one Alli.
I also wonder if "Ella" and Eliza are one and the same. As to Harriet's age, this is how it's listed in the census's:
1841 - 21
1851 - 30
1861 - 44
1881 - 53
1891 - 52

????? :-\

Any thoughts on that? Maybe she just didn't give her correct age?  I'm pretty sure I've got the right family throughout.
Old age is usually my excuse Spendlove ;D
