Yes, I am still here. I pop in from time to time. The Bax family were indeed Quakers and very wealthy landowners in their day. They owned Ockley Manor, Pleystowe Farm and many others in the area of Ockley, Capel and Dorking. It is my understanding that the early Baxes met in their homes in Capel for their Quaker meetings. You may like to follow this up here: http://www.capelvillage.co.uk/about-capel-vilagIn addition, the best book on the Bax family, that gives the family tree for about 11 lines, is the book by Bernard Thistlethwaite. I have seen a copy in the archives, and it is excellent. You can find a copy in London at the Society of Genealogists. This should be your starting point. Can't recommend it more highly. You will also be able to view some old wills here for the Bax family.
