Hi Ann Marie,

There is a death on Scotlands People of a David Stormont in 1929 in Fife which is just across the river Tay.  Its the only one up to 1956 when the records end BUT the mothers maiden name IS NOT---- COOPER.  This IS THE ONLY ONE in all the records I checked up to 1956, he was born 1881 +/-1  so I don't know if this one is yours, he may have gone abroad too.
Sorry I can't be of anymore help.

Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth

The David that i am trying to find was born on 4th March 1889, and was my grandads brother.

My mum never recalls my dad speaking about him so maybe he did go abroad.

Hello 'mrsscouser',

Have you actually downloaded the 1924 death certificate of David Stormont, age 36, in Cupar district of Fife County, to see what it contains.?
In the initial search for a match the mother's surname of Cooper does not fit. However, the surname may not be on the certificate in the first place.

Hi Anne Marie,

There are two marriages for a David Stormont on Scotlands People both in 1920 and also both in the St Clements area of Angus.

Maybe you should check these out maybe one will be yours. He would have been about 31 if any of these marriage are his.

David Stormont is my Dads Uncle. MY dad says that he emigrated to America and I have found information which verifies this. At one point he lived in Essex, Massch. but have record of his last address as being East Hartford. Conneticut.

My Grandfather was Jack his first wife Elizabeth Michie died when my Dad was only 15, he has 6 brothers and sisters. His Dad married Nora later on  but had no children. I have tried to find Edward who emigrated to Canada but so far have found nothing.

What relation are you in the Stormont family?

Hope to hear from you

I think I have replied to you on two different websites on the same day. Quite a coincidence since I have been looking for information on the Stormont family for quite sometime.

Hi

i think that I may have just replied to you from the other site.

My grandfather was James Cooper Stormont and he was Jack Moirs brother. They were just 2 of the 10 children born to David Stormont and Jane Cooper.

My David Stormont was born in Arbroath in 1873 - Fiona Garrett's family tree lists a lot of Stormonts from Arbroath area and some might fit - see www.fionagarrett.com. My line goes through Mary Stormont (1801-1886)
