Cell probabaly found it on BIVRI (British Isles Vital Records Index), which is a set of discs that can be purchased from the Mormon church for around £20/25 or on Emerald Ancestors, an online site that you can subscribe to (£9.99 for 1 mth, £29.99 for 6 mths, £49.99 for 1year). I have checked and it does appear on Emerald Ancestors.

The Stewart name in my list would have been from around the Hamilton area.

I dont think my Stewarts would have had enough money for bus fare to Hamilton ..lol
well I got an email from the link I found regarding the Aicken family and they certainly have links with the names Aicken and Taggart and from the same church that Cell mention, unfortuantly its not the same dates as the sarah and John that Iam looking for ,(is later)but I'm sure they must be related somewhere down the line..
My main aim now must be to get a copy of the marriage certificate ...
thanks also  to all that have emailed me with different ideas and hints on researching ,to a novice like me ,every bit of help is appreciated.

Do post again once you have the certificate details to see if we can be of any further help.

I also have a Taggart/Aicken (Aiken) connection. Our grandfather's sister Sarah Taggart married Andrew Aiken at Buckna Presbyterian Church. Sarah was born to William Taggart and Rachel McNeill in 1906 and she died 23 Jan 1990. They had one child that we know of--William. The last I knew William lived at Carnlough, Antrim, and had four children. Sarah's brother Robert was born in 1896 at Glenrarm, Larne.

We have other Aikens in the family tree as well. Sara Aiken married Robert Martin (who later remarried my mother-in-law, he a widower and she a widow). Thomas Aiken married Nellie McClelland. Both of these families are in the US.
