Hi Louise,

I see you give a little more info here:
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,220034.0.html

Tha marriage index is free to search here:
http://content.ancestry.co.uk/iexec/?htx=List&dbid=8965&offerid=0%3a7858%3a0

If you know when Norman was born, it should narrow down the time frame a little ...

Thanks for the reply.
I know my dates are correct, but after a LONG time searching using various angles I still cannot find a match - I must be doing something wrong! All I know of Norman is he was born to Leah before 1932 as his brother was born in that year by Mary.

Doing something wrong? Do you actually open the page for each quarter that comes up?

Hi  I think he was William francis. I am in contact with Mary's daughter from her second marriage and she has given me all her moms details and did not mention her first name being Alice. Padmore is not common though or Pedley?

I couldn't see any other, going back to 1930...

Had you found that one? If not, then I do suppose you don't actually look at every page of the index when you do the search ??? It's not the most fun thing to do but I'm afraid there's no other way of doing it ...  :P

Just checked birth record online for Mary Padmore and only one I can find is Alice M Padmore registered Jan to March 1911  aston, when her birthday is 25/12/1910. This must be the right person. I was given her details by her daughter, and you presume you know your mothers name!
