Hi,

I think we would need some dates here to try and help, when were the born, where etc.  When did they marry, where etc, and to whom?

Hi Mrsscouser

I am tracing the Martin family in Angus

In my tree I have a Jane Martin married to James Stormont  who was a ropemaker. They married in Arbroath on 3rd December 1847

I do not have birth or death details for him but the 1861 census for arbroath lists them as
Jane      40
James   40
Ann       12
William   10
James      8
Jane         2 or 4 ( cant make it out clearly)
Jessie       2months

Jane died June 20th 1893 and is listed as wife to James so assume he was still alive at that time.

Dont know if this will help any

Hi Elizabeth

Have a David Stormont (b 1861 and d 1926) who married Jane Cooper(b 1863 and d 1956) in Edzell on July 18th 1884. I know who her parents were but his parents were a Jane Ingram (b 1871) and David Stormont but no trace of wedding.

Jane had two illigitimate children, Williamina who was born 27th Feb 1858 and David who was born 11th May 1860 both have Ingram on birth certificates but by 1881 census their surname had changed to Stormont.

Williamina went onto marry William Barbour on 21/09/1888 and this marriage certificate shows David and Jane as parents.

However, have also discovered that Jane Ingram was married to  Alexander Gibb by the time of Williamina wedding
