1841/1851 census look up please-Corbett-COMPLETED

My ancestors come from the Tenbury/Rochford area and I note that my GGGGrandfather is noted on the list - John from Tenbury, living at Stoke Bliss.
I have connections with Wellington, being born there myself.

Hi calderfields.

Nice to hear from you.  I feel pretty sure that all the the Corbett's from the 1800's around  Tenbury are related and in recent months I have been busy trying to make links between them all.  The only Corbett that I can find that moved from Rochford to Wellington was Thomas Corbett born 1843 and of course his widowed mother Mary, who herself was born Wellington and had to return there (probably to claim parish relief) when her husband Edward Corbett died in Rochford. I would love to know if you have any other details linking Wellington to Rochford/Tenbury.

Thanks for your reply. My family came to Wellington by marriage only and in the 1950's. My ggggrandfather was married in Tenbury in 1787 (william) and I had ancestors in Rochford in 1720 to 1770. Prior to this my line came from Bockleton back to 1600. If any of yours are similar let me know, or contact the Corbett study group and Jean, who runs it, can check for a match from the records she holds. My line also branches off to Smethwick, Birmingham and Australia.

I don't have any info on Corbetts, but noticed you have Bowen in your Shropshire names.  Any chance they're the same Bowens as mine - Benjamin Bowen c.1852 Norbury Bishops Castle married Elizabeth Handley?

Hi cassiar.
I don't think I have the same Bowen family in my tree as you, my Benjamin was born about 1786 and they came from Clungunford which is not that far from Bishops Castle, so it is possible. I will have another look at my Bowens and if I do find a connection I will let you know.

Hi Folks, anything known on a Mary Ann Corbett , b.Stourbridge 1850ish who married Henry Frederick Forbes, b. Brookwalls,Derbys 1850, at Dudley on 11 Oct 1874, she a seamstress he a glassmaker. In the 1881 census they are at 36b Brickkiln Street, Dudley with dau' Louisa & Albert W Corbett, bro' in law.
