You may have seen these already but I've find a few links for you that might be of interest...

1st, Commonwealth war graves commision's info on Harold

http://www.cwgc.org/search/casualty_details.aspx?casualty=544592

2nd, the medal index for a Harold E Harmer of the Royal Sussex but the the service number is different.

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documentsonline/details-result.asp?Edoc_Id=2716419&queryType=1&resultcount=9

3rd, there is a medal index for an S F Harmer of the East Kent Reg

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documentsonline/details-result.asp?Edoc_Id=2716581&queryType=1&resultcount=11
