Cambs FHS web site has a baptism index 1801-37 but I cannot see him http://www.cfhs.org.uk/Search.html

Have you found him in either the 1851 or 1861 censuses?

Regards

David

David,
Thanks for the reply, we are not sure he was born in Cambridgeshire the certificate just says Chesterton, so it could be in another county.
No I haven't looked in the census.
I'm in Australia.

Hi Lacharna

If you check the IGI on www.familysearch.org you will see the marriage of Wm Beesley and Mary Wakefield in 1806 in Chesterton Oxford(shire). There is also a baptism of Thomas Beesley in Chesterton, son of William and Mary on the same site.

The 1851 and 61 censuses would give his birthplace and also his age, athough I can't see anyone obvious.  When did he emigrate and who did he marry in Lincs and when?

Pre 1837 you are unlikely to be lucky enough to find a birth date - the baptism date is usually all you will get, unless the vicar happened to note the birth date in the margin of the parish register

I'm in France
