Bridget Walsh
« on: Friday 09 March 07 03:14 GMT (UK) »
Hi
Is there anyone out there related to a Bridget Walsh? I haven't much to go on. Her brother Maurice came to Australia in 1857 on the "Vocalist". The ships record says he was 23, from Kilnoe, County, Clare, father Michael, mother Mary and he had a sister Bridget living at Newcastle, NSW.
Hope someone can help.
Thanks
Marj

Hi Marj

There is a Bridget Walsh who arrived in Queensland in 1853 which might fit the bill.

Hi Marj,

Have you checked the NSW BDM index? You can search it for free at
http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/familyHistory/search.htm
I did a quick search for Bridget Walsh marriages, but there are an awful lot  :-\  I did notice one at the catholic church at Raymond Terrace, Newcastle though:
1842 HAYES, Thomas and WALSH, Bridget
but it's a fair bit earlier than your Maurice's arrival.
