HARRIOT WALL
« on: Wednesday 07 March 07 09:56 GMT (UK) »
Was HARRIOT WALL (b1843) in WOODNESBOROUGH unmarried when she gave birth to WILLIAM W WALL in 1865. I have her as married to a ROBERT BAILEY in the 1871 census.

Hello Malc

On FreeBMD

Birth Sept Qtr 1865 Eastry 2a 722
William Walter WALL

Marriage Dec Qtr 1868
Eastry 2a 1411
Robert BAILEY
Harriett WALL

If you send for these certificates it should confirm Harriett's "status" at birth and marriage.

Of course, she could have previously married a Wall and been widowed.

Regards

My mother is a Wall and has begun researching her family tree. I mentioned that there is a Wall buried at Worth (Church is opposite my house) the grave of Frederick C Wall! the only Wall buried at Worth. We mentioned that it is strange to see only one of a surname in a small village, do you know of any connection? information?

Hi Claire, Have you any more info on Frederick, i.e. a year of death and his age?

Off the top of my head (but will double check in the daylight).

Frederick died 27th Feb 1956 aged 71 years.

Buried alone, simple headstone....no other Wall's buried at St Peter & St Paul's in Worth,

From what I can see he was FREDERICK CHARLES WALL (B1885) @ WICKHAMBREUX, KENT son of HENRY WALL (b1844) and MARY ANN POTTS (b1845) they were married 4th qtr 1865. Henry came from Wickhambreux and Mary came from Deal. I will look further for a connection to the Walls I am researching to see if there is a connection. My family tree is on Genes Reunited if you are a member.

I now see that Henry's father was also one HENRY WALL (b1821) of Wickhambreux and his wife was a Harriet so was one of his daughters. Seems a lot of coincidences, but I can't find a link to the Walls of the Staple area------yet!

Hi Malc

I notice that William W WALL was born in Eastry - there is a lookup offer for Eastry baptisms via the Kent Lookup Exchange which may be useful:
