Have you checked, "Picture the Past", its a collection of photographs of old Nottingham. There are explanations as to who Henry Kirke White was and pictures of Mayfield Terrace (?), off Kirkewhite Street and some images of Kirkewhite Street.

Its also a great resource for Nottingham.

I love it and my elderly neighbours and my dad (Nottingham residents) have thoroughly enjoyed reminiscing when looking through photos of old streets.

My grandmother  Ada Cockayne was born at no.126  in 1901/2
Her father Tom Cockayne was licensee of "The Duke of Newcastle" until 1904
