Hello,

(Firstly, what beautiful photographs!)

We live in France, so don't get to Nantwich very often. Would it be possible to find any Cartwrights, especially from the 1870s?

Thankyou

Neil :)

Thanks Sarah,

That would be nice if you have the time.

The Cartwrights would be William (Dec 1873), Thomas (Oct 1875), Samuel (1877), Sarah (Oct 1893), and possibly in the new cemetery, William (July 1916).

I'm also interested in Owens and Edges, in case you come cross any. (I know where my grandparents' graves are - Jane 1964 and Joseph 1973 - but others may be a revelation).

Thank you very much!

Neil

Came across these in the Nantwich Burial Registers ......

Apologies if you've already got them!....

William Cartwright
Burial No - 785
Abode - Hospital Street
December 6th 1873
Aged 80
Ceremony - D P Pritchard, Curate

Thomas Cartwright
Burial No - 1047
Abode - Hospital Street
October 16th 1875
Aged 46
Ceremony - William H Higgs

Samuel Cartwright

Had a look for Sarah's as well but got home and realised I'd been looking in the wrong year... ???.....let me know if you want it....

I'm sure these burials are in the older cemetery.....and going for a wander later so watch this space....

Hi All

Its been a while since I've taken photos at Barony Road Cemetery so while the sun was shining off I went ..... to find that it looks like   somebody's attempted to bulldoze it ???..or an over-enthusiastic grass cutter has been about .......unfortunately there's a few more toppled and broken headstones but signs of tree-felling so maybe it's just the start of a tidy up program.......see what you think.....
