Quarry in or near Batcombe?
« on: Wednesday 28 February 07 09:15 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone know of any quarries in or around Batcombe that were operational in the mid to late 1870s?

Samuel Vining was living at Honeycliff in Batcombe at this time and his occupation is shown as Quarryman and as Stone Cutter. He was previously an agricultural labourer.

I would be grateful for any information.

Pam

Hi Andy

Thanks very much for that information. I didn't realise there were still operational quarries in that area. I shall try and research this a little further.

Regards,
Pam
