Hi,  Looking for James McCORMICK married to Matilda McILHAGGA from Antrim
1840-50.  They were on my G-grandmother Rachel CHESNEY nee McCORMICK'  death cert. 1921 in SPRINGBURN GLasgow.

                 Cheers Joxer 42

Hello joxer42,

There are several items which need to be established when searching for Irish ancestors.

1. Denomination.
2. Parish.
3. Townland.

You'll have to rely on Church records when searching for ancestors born prior to the introduction of Civil Registration in Ireland. This happened in 1864. Marriages of Non Catholic were registered from 1845 onwards.

When was Rachel born? did she have any older siblings? did the parents James and Matilda also move to Scotland?
