Hello Hello...

I know you posted ages ago so I don't know what you do or don't have on Roger Aherne...this is what I have found:

Roger Aherne b. 1892 in the Parish/District of Kilpatrick Co. Tipperary with the parents of Patrick and Julia Aherne. If you buy this record, it will give you the maiden name of Julia. I know you have a date of 1894 but sometimes dates are wrong as I know all too well.

I did find Roger's death index on Ancestry as being 1 July 1961 in Queensland. And I see his marriage as being in 1927 to Rosalia. Her death according to Ancestry is 24 August 1948 - with her parents being Thomas Robert Flanagan and Elizabeth Rosalia Kluck.

I've also just found Roger's parents on the 1901 Census of Ireland in Kilpatrick but Roger is not on it:

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Tipperary/Kilpatrick/Coolacussane/1706116/

This census thus gives you Julia's maiden name, which is Julia Neill and through this..I have found the marriage of Patrick and Julia, which is in 1894 in Cappagh Parish. I'm guessing that Rogers year of birth is wrong from this.

And here are the family again on the 1911 Census of Ireland:

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Tipperary/Kilpatrick/Coolacussane/815572/

Roger is not on either census, which is strange but not uncommon

Hope that some of this helps you,

Annie
The surnames, which I am interested in are; Maternal side: Ryan, Kevin, Grant, Grady, Gleeson, Walsh, Dwyer, Paternal side: O' Dwyer, Woodlock, Rochford & Britton - all in Tipperary; and Kelly and Hoynes in Laois.

Ryan, Campbell, Luttrell, Grant, Grahame, Bainbridge and Brown in Queensland, Australia

Tighe in Victoria, Australia.

Grant in Philadelphia, Sullivan and Penny in New York; and Britton in Connecticut

I have a Rody Ahern and a Mary Dwyer listed on my great aunt's baptism records from this area.
We have documents that spell name: Ahearn, Ahern, and Aherne

Rody Ahern and Mary Dwyer were the sponsors of Julia Agnes Ryan's baptism in 1885.

Parents were Patrick Ryan and Margaret Aherne married Feb 1872. Patrick listed as from Caherne and Margaret from Glenough.
They had several children: John, James, Mary, Margaret, Bridget.
They came to Brooklyn, New York in 1890.
Patrick had 2 brothers we do not know the name of; one went to Australia and one went to Chicago.
Margaret Aherne's parents were John Aherne and Margaret Heffernan.
Any connections?
