From the details on his marriage cert., this looks like John Storie's birth entry on IGI:

JOHN STORIE  Birth: 06 SEP 1859  Prestonkirk, East Lothian, Scotland

Siblings showing for him on IGI:

Oh Wow!
I am still trying to make out the marriage cert from Scotlands people - not very clear?? You are way ahead..................Gosh his line is filling up so quickly!!! I am on the 1901 census now and there seems to be a big difference in ages??/ as you said.............it kinda looks as if John is 49? but Agnes only 36?? John is now a coal miner which ties in with what his family have him down as????

The index for the 1901 is showing John as 42 which would fit his 1859 birth year. Agnes at 36 would make her birth year c. 1864/5. What is the place of birth showing for Agnes in the census entry?

Again, I'm feeling I'm stepping on someone's footsteps. This submitted entry shows on IGI for the Agnes we found earlier born 1874:

Agnes Mitchell Malcolm  Birth: 11 DEC 1874  Watsonville, Motherwell, Lanark, Scotland
Death:  27 FEB 1930
Parents: Mother: Jane or Janet Malcolm

This birth place fits the above entry...the 1930 DC would confirm it either way.

I think we are there  ;) I haven't viewed it, but the details fits everything we have just found out about Agnes. Her death entry on SP:

1930   STORIE   AGNES MITCHELL       DAVIDSON MALCOLM   F   55   CARLUKE   /LANARK   629/00 0023

The Davidson I would assume came from her mother's marriage. Why Agnes would have shown as older post her marriage is anyone's guess, but she now shows her actual age with a birth year of 1874/5.

Yes - it's all tying in nicely! From the info I have - John Storrie marrying Agnes Malcolm - then only one child's details - that is an Isabella Storie b. 1913 in Law village -next to Carluke - she married a John Johnman Arnott - b. 30.9.1909 in Waterloo, Lanark - they had a son - John Storie Arnott b.1936 - then all the family seem to be born in Carluke!!! My Brother in Law is John Arnott. born Carluke!!! (all this extra info is coming from - keeping folks out of beds!!!!!and on the phone!!!) Thank you  - again - so much for all your help!!!!!

My last one for now!

As you may have gathered, on line access to births on SP finish on 1906 (100 yr confidentiality rule). A search in Carluke from 1901-1906 for births brings these up (adding to your family of 10 most likely  ::)):

1   1904   STORIE   HELEN DAVIDSON   CARLUKE   /LANARK   629/00 0101
2   1906   STORIE   JOHN   CARLUKE   /LANARK   629/00 0189
3   1901   STORIE   MARGARET   CARLUKE   /LANARK   629/00 0100
4   1902   STORIE   MARY PUNTON   CARLUKE   /LANARK   629/00 0253

At a guess, Isabella b. 1913 must have been their last child (?) or close to. John would have been 53 and Agnes younger at 38. Isabella's birth cert would have to be ordered direct from the GROS via Scotlands People.

I'm off to bed now  8)

Regards.
