Butleigh parish registers
« on: Friday 23 February 07 13:48 GMT (UK) »

Hi everyone,

Does anybody know whether there is a transcript of the Butleigh parish registers available, either on line or in a record office? I've tried to read the microfiche copy of the original but I can only pick out a few entries. I know my Callow and Periam families are there back to the year dot, so I hope that someone with better eyesight has managed to copy them.

Thanks,

Kitty.

Hi Kitty, I wonder if a John Periam who marr. Mary Meaker at Moorlinch 1794 was originally from the Butleigh Periam family and wonder if you had a lost John as I cannot find his birthplace but know of Periam family from the Butleigh web-site which is excellent. Butleigh is not very far from Stawell village where John and Mary lived.Their children have all the usual Periam names which doesn't mean a thing. Regards, syljun

This is a diversion and I should probably start a new query - but the mention of a Mary Meaker reminded me,  I am looking for a James Meaker b. 1759 in Butleigh - I recently acquired a page from a book of Psalms which belonged to him - but after his birth he seems to have completely disappeared from Butleigh - anyone have any ideas? see under Meaker (6) www.butleigh.org
