Stotts could well have also been a plumbing contractors at the time of the economic construction and later just concentrated on electrics....My MUM moved to the economic as a little girl and she was born in 1927 so I presume we are talking about 1935 ish....over 70 years ago.......did you check whether stotts are still contracting ???...allan

hi allan,  yes your right, we are talking 1930 ish. the diary pages have been ripped out at some time and whoever did it didnt think to save the dates!  but it has to be middle 1930's i reckon.

i havent been able to locate stotts,  they may well have been general contractors i suppose  that would explain it.

Fascinating reading all this, right this moment!  I am researching my husband's Liverpool tree and have tracked down some Irish.  What a surprise!

Having forked out the exorbitant cost of an image of the 1921 Census, I have found a great uncle of his who was an out of work joiner for ... Economic Building Company in Allerton.  I suppose he was between jobs but still in their employ.

More joiners and carpenters than one can shake a stick at and too many Thomases.  No imagination in his family - or respect for their ancestors, maybe.
