Hi Len

The short answer is no.

But if you post names, dates, etc. on this board, then various people have access to CDs etc. and can give you this info.

Bren.

G'day Bren,

Thank you for you reply.

I didn't think there was anything available.

Cheers

It is available Len. It's just not on the web, but we can search for you as Bren has outlined.

I've heard that there's changes afoot in NZ to change the dates that you can get certifcates for, so you won't be able  get a birth certificate for anyone born in the past 100 years. Clearly that'll be a big problem for anyone just starting to trace their NZ ancestors, and particularly anyone from dear old Blighty. Does anyone have any news on this, and are there any ways the NZ government can be lobbied if the rumours are true?

I think that a letter to the NZ Prime Minister pointing out the problems caused to family historians would help - and the more the better. Perhaps a petition on our PM's website to bring in sanctions if this law is passed ...  :D :D :D :D

You are obv from overseas, this government and PM esp DON'T listen to anyone.

750,000 of our 3.5 m (at time) population forwarded a petition calling for tougher sentences for crims, she (PM) accepted it and then said WE DON'T have do anything YOU say.
