POTTERs of Ilkeston
« on: Wednesday 21 February 07 17:43 GMT (UK) »
Trying to find details of my grandmother from Ilkeston name of Alice Gertrude Potter
She had two sisters that I know of May and Edith. both spinsters.
She married Samuel White and lived at 15 Stanton Road, Ilkeston at the time of the birth of a daughter Mavis Mary in 1921.
Thats the only detail I have

Hi Coalmantrains  :)

What sort of information are you after?

I am trying to find any information, as I have only just found out her name from my mothers birth certificate, which I have just obtained.
I knew my great Aunts when I was younger (May and Edith) but never knew my grand mother, or even her name as they died sometime when I was a child.
With no known relatives I have struggled to find this side of my family tree

In 1891, William and Mary W are all by themselves in Ilkeston at 10 Union Road, and this should be William in 1881: http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?db=uki1881&indiv=try&h=2612908
