Hi Mary.
The main name would be Annabella Higgins, born about 1985. Have tried for years to find her birth, with no success. Her parents, John Higgins and Sarah Johnston, Lurgan. Annabella died age 18, about a month after my father was born. Her married name was Dickson. I've her marriage and death details, it's the birth that's the fly in the ointment.
Two or three of her siblings are proving equally hard to find. Is it possible those entries are missing from the indices ?.
Thanks for the reply Mary,
Regards,
Dixie

I was wondering if John Higgins,  could have possibly lived in Belfast in the early 1900's? as I have came across him and he has a daughter called Annabella who was 16 in 1911, a relative of my husbands family lodged with them in Belfast.

Hi weemee.
Yes the family were living in Belfast in the 1911 census, at 12 Linfield St., in the Sandy Row area. Annabella died at this address in January 1914, age 18.
Previous to that in 1907, Another daughter of John Higgins, died at 9 Britannic St., which is also in the Sandy Row area.
Regards, Dixie

Are you sure it was Linfield Street and not Lawyer Street?  The cousin living with them was born in Scotland and was just lodging in Belfast while his wife was living with her family in Lurgan, this person was my husbands Grandfather.

Hi weemee.
Yes they were living in Linfield St., in 1911, but 1910 street directory has John Higgins living in Lawyer St., which was just around the corner from Linfield St.
In 1901 Sarah Higgins is living at Gilbert's Court, in Lurgan, and listed as head of household.
Her brother John Johnston, age 17, was living with the family.
John Higgins may have been in Belfast working, possibly in Linfield Mill, which is local to the addresses mentioned.
Have a bit of info on the family if you are interested in it. It's not a lot but may help.

Regards.
Dixie
P.S.  Just went through my note and found out you are right about them living at Lawyer St., in 1911,..
They must have moved to Linfield St., after that.
Annabella was married from Linfield St., and died at Linfield St.
Thanks for quering the address, but for you I would not have found out my mistake.

Hi weemee.
It might take one more posting for you to receive a PM from me. I thought it took three to send one.

I don't mind sharing the info I have, that's what Rootschat is all about.

Dixie
