Hello all

I am interested to know if there are any LUCAS BDMs in the Tutbury records - graveyard or parish - around the 1700s.

Specifically I would like to find a Martin Lucas.

The IGI had some early Lucas records listed and I was very interested to see one was for a Montgomery Lucas [not the spelling - I've modernised it] - I would really like to know anything that is there as it may link in somewhere in this long long search.

If you are still looking, I have Tutbury records census church records, tithe map etc.,complete on disc....there are 64 entries for the family, ranging from late 1600s, but no Martin, I knew one of them, Gladys Gwendoline, who died 1974.

Hello there - I am a little slow in replying - my computer will not let me login to rootschat so I've had to get access to another computer.

I am interested in all the Tutbury Lucas entries to work out the family line - Montgomery as a first name keeps appearing down the decades - his name always appeared in the Mormon lists for Tutbury but nothing
else so I always knew/or guessed that Tutbury may be the family base.  My line ended up in Southam - not that far away - but we have never found much about Martin before his marriage record - some of the Lucus/Lucas were in Banbury - on the move it would seem to Southam,-  these are the next lot of records I will need to access.
  It is so difficult working from Aus - even with the amazing resources available on line.
I really appreciate the rootschat community and the amazing knowledgeable generosity shown.

OK here goes.for starters.........These are from the earliest records at Tutbury St Mary's
Only "Monty" is Montgomery  son of Jehosophat/joanna baptised 12 5 1685
-Jehosophat died 1681 there is no further record of Montgomery at Tutbury
Other children from the marriage are.
Onisipheros 24  5 1686 no further record.
Elizabeth 11 1 1687 no further record at Tutbury
Deborah   2 1 1689  do.
John        16 3 1690 - there is a John father of   John who was baptised  26 6 1726, records only state that he is son of John and his wife, who is not named.
Jehosaphat 4 6 1693 buried 28 4 1696
Penelope 20 10 1695 buried 24 12 1708
Jehosaphat (again) 23 2 1697
Mary 14 5 1700        buried 8 8 1789
Timothy, 23 2 1701 - was buried 2 days later with his mother
