Gallium, Thankyou very much  for your quick reply to my query. It was certainly a great help to me and has enable me to confirm my 8Gt. Grandfathers baptism and the name of my 9 Gt. Grandfather. A really great result for me. :D

Does anyone know if there is anything like that for Ruscombe?

David, how wonderful to know you live in Hurst.

I grew up in Twyford mainly, and Ruscombe and all my family were local. It helps that most of my ancestors on my maternal grandmothers side came from Ruscombe. When I make a trip to the Records Office (not so easy when you have a 2 year old!) then hopefully, I should be able to get quite a lot of info in one trip? I hope???

As far as I can see there aren't many records around for Ruscombe although it is worth checking with the Berkshire Record Office in Reading.

The BerksFHS index of marriages covers Ruscombe up to 1812.

I misled you in that I actually live in Wokingham not Hurst but it would seem that you have a lot of local knowledge anyway.

Well, local knowledge as in I know the area, nothing more really!

I'm trying to find out information about Twyford Flower Show in 1905, you would think it would be easy, but no!

Nothing is easy in FH though is it?

A trip to the record offices it is!

I presume that you know that the BerksFHS library is located next to the Berks record office, sharing the building with the registration office.

They have a number of books on Ruscombe and its only a couple of pounds to use it if you are not a member.  Check their website before you go to the record office to see when they are open and what they hold.
