Hi Karen and JJ,
   your post in my thread got put on the backburner with the unfortunate result that I completely forgot about it.  :-[ :-[

I have been flatchat lately and haven't had time to put the time into the family research. If You can hold  off for a few more weeks, I should be back in full swing. The majority of my time on Rootschat is in the photo Restoration forum and that's not much time either. My Sister Is really the researcher on this side of the family and she hasn't had much time for it either. I now have this thread in my computers diary to remind every couple of weeks, so I won't forget.

In your McManus family have you found that Thomas McManus, son of Thomas & Bridget Mcmanus (Keogh) came to Australia, Qld to be precise.  Not sure when he saild to Aust.
He married Alice George - 1893/B16111  McManus Thomas; George   Alice - QLD BDM's online.
They had -

Most of the mcmanus family are buried in drum graveyard Athlone County Roscommon. Try googling drum middle graveyard.

Also regarding the school in athlone. The most likely school near the castle is the Dean kelly school
