Anyone visiting Nottingham Archives?
« on: Tuesday 13 February 07 23:52 GMT (UK) »
Hi

Is there anyone who is visiting Nottingham Archives and who would be willing to look up a marriage for me?

It is between George WARD and Elizabeth ALLWOOD and took place on 10 March 1845 at Mansfield Woodhouse.

I could do with knowing George's fathers details so that I can ascertin whether or not this is actually my George.

Many thanks

Hi!
Am hoping to visit the archives sometime in the Easter holidays - which isn't for another 5 or 6 weeks.
If you haven't had any joy by then I'll have a look for you.

best wishes
cally

Hi If you are going to buy the certificate  you could  call or write  to Mansfield Register Office quoting details of the father it should be and asking them only to issue certificate  if the same.  If not they will return your cheque.

Hi Sam,
apologies again for not being able to get to the Archives at Easter - but I have managed to get there today!

I found the marriage you are after, George's father is Joseph Ward, a FWK, as were both the bride, groom & bride's father.
George is aged 21 & Elizabeth 18, both resident in Mansfield Woodhouse.
One of the witnesses was a Mary Ward.

Hope this helps you tie it up!

best wishes,
cally
