Hi folks.
I see a few people are interested in McDowells, so perhaphs these strays may connect for them.

2.
Marriage on the 12 May 1848, in the Presbyterian Meeting House, Kells, Co Antrim, Ireland, by license by M. Moore.
Samuel Carson, age 24, a gate-keeper, resided Crumkill, Connor, Co Antrim.
Father, Hugh Carson, a farmer.
Maria McDowell, age 18, a spinster, resided Crumkill, Connor, Co Antrim.
Father, Clothworthy McDowell, a farmer.
Witnesses,  Hugh Douglas and John MIFERILY????. (surname unreadable).

This is now on irishgenealogy.ie.   The witnesses names are Hugh Douglas and Robert McCartney.   There's a lot of connections between the Crumkill McDowells and McCartneys including my 4th Great Granparents Smith McDowell and Jane McCartney.  Maria McDowell was most likely their niece.
