I'm descended from the Lamb family of Arthington. They were farmers, as far as I know, and some of them are buried in the church yard there.
My mother, Judith, and aunt, Margaret, had the name Lamb as their maiden name. They grew up in Tinsill, Leeds. I recall them telling me of visiting a relative in Pannal (aunt maybe - "Ella" perhaps).
Their father was called George Lamb who married Agnes Goodchild. I vaguely remember my grandfather who passed away in the early 1970s in his late 60s.
There's a family story that my grandfather's parents tried their luck in New Zealand, trusting the farm in Arthington to a brother. It didn't work out in NZ but the brother wouldn't hand the farm back to them.
