As Online Parish Clerk for Chilvers Coton I can do look ups for Chilvers Coton church but prefer not to do blanket searches. I will see what I can find over the weekend.
Al

PS. Will also have a look at Attleborough PC and Nuneaton as time permits.

Hi pcjr, have started looking today. Went through Nuneaton Parish Church records from 1901 to 1940 and came up with only the following

Mary Ellen Smith aged 40 of 5, Bridge Street, Nuneaton buried 6 January 1906
Louisa Ellen Smith aged 69 of 52, College Street, Chilvers Coton, buried 19 March 1920. That must be somewhere near.
John Smith aged 69 of Sunnydale, High Street, Nuneaton, buried 31 October 1918.
I also trawled through Attleborough Parish Church burials from the same period without success.
I will check Coton tomorrow.
I would have thought you would have some idea of the years when they died and some clue as to where in the town they lived, havn't you any relatives who you could tap?

I will see if I can find anything out, I know that some of the Smiths ended up in the Stockingford area, but not sure if John and Ellen did. I know that Ellen was born in 1852 and John about the same I think. Will check through when I have more time.  One of their sons, Edden Smith died in the 1950's I think it was.....

The John Smith I sent would have been born in the early 1850s.

just looked at my tree and it was c1854 in Woodsford, Northamptonshire, not that this is much help as they moved to Nuneaton. trouble is, Smith is common enough, but John smith has given me so much trouble lol

If you have all the earlier stuff how come you have been able to trace them without the later?
Anyway, have trawled through Chilvers Coton anf have only found  the following -
Emma Smith, 21, Bracebridge Street, Nuneaton Buried 21 December 1916 aged 76 which is a bit out.
More interesting is
John Smith of 13, Canalside, Bridge Street, Chilvers Coton, buried 22 March 1927 aged 73, this to me is spot on the 1854 birth date, what do you think.

In the Electors list of 1902 the only John Smith listed in Attleborough is of Upper Park Street formerly of Tennant Street.
Anything ring a bell?

my husband never knew his grandparents and we only got their names from his dad's birth certificate, from that we worked backwards but being a name like Smith it has been quite difficult. It does sound like you may have found John Smith, I wonder if they stayed in Nuneaton at all or moved back to Northamptonshire? I did find a few Ellen Smith's in the Northamptonshire area, there's no-one left that we can ask information about the Smith's unfortunately
