Is interest in the Acworth line still alive? Am researching my Acwotrh Grandmother and her descent.

Hello

This is research I was carrying out with my brother in law and is pretty much complete from our side, thanks.

I can't see any mentions on this thread of info from the National Library's digitised newspapers so I thought I'd post a link as you may be interested in having a look - there are 900-odd entries with this surname from 1847-1954.  Obviously some of them will not be relevant but I notice many are from Qld papers.

I don't know if this is the Louis Acworth you are looking for but.

No, not any more, thank you.

Thanks you very much for the information you have provided. I will pass it on to my brother in law but it is distant family for him.

Hello everyone searching Acworth

I am in the process of compiling a lot of information into a book on my Acworth line. Louis Acworth was my GGGGrandfather. If anyone has any information or would like some we may be able to help each other.

Regards

Kay

Thanks for answering, Gerry. I appreciate anything you may have.  I have quite a bit but there are always holes to be filled and it is hard to say exactly what I need, as I am trying to piece together their lives, so all the mundane things are very welcome.  I have the details on the insolvency, but I am having trouble finding anything on a plumbing business.

Not being in Qld makes it harder for me, and if anyone has anything from UK, that would help a lot too.  I would also like information about the children left in UK, Emma Amelia, Alice Clara, and Arthur James.   Is everyone aware that Louis and Emma returned to England?  Louis died 21st July 1895 but I haven't got his exact buriel.  Emma died Sept 1899, (no date) buried Newton Abbot Devon England.  Louis Joseph was another son who was already married and came out twelve months later. He is my GG Grandfather.

In case there is confusion, Acworth is one family which can be traced back to at least 13th Century. There are an awful lot of branches, but we all belong to the one tree.

Regards
Kay

Hi,

I am researching a Victorian CDV photograph album and there is a photograph of a lady with the name Alice Clara Acworth written on the back. A lot of the photographers are in Croydon, Surrey. There are also two photos from Brisbane, Australia.
