Info reqd on Ann Robinson

Hello from New Zealand

I'm looking for information on my g-g-g-grandmother Ann Robinson who married Cornelius Wadsley at Wellingore on 15/3/1796.

I have plenty on the Wadsleys but nothing at all on the Robinsons - not even date of death of Ann.

If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

I have been researching the name of WADSLEY so would be very interested in any info on them.

My interest is Thomas WADSLEY of Heckington who married Catherine RICHARDSON at Sutterton in 1792

I looked on the NBI for Cornelius WADSLEY and ANN and found the following:

Cornelius  WADSLEY buried Gosberton on 19 Dec 1820 age 62

Ann WADSLEY  buried Sleaford on 21 Nov 1844 age 74
Ann WADSLEY buried Horbling on 21 May 1843 age 66
Ann WADSLEY buried Boston on 5 Feb 1833 age 78

Maybe you could check the 1841 Census to find out about the first two Ann's listed. They might give a lead to finding out more about Ann Richardson.

Sorry I don't have more information for you but I will keep looking.

My Wadsleys are also in Heckington around the time you mention.

There are two Ann Wadsleys in 1841 census that fit the ones you mentioned -

b 1776 (living at Horbling) and b 1771 (living at New Sleaford).

Horbling not the one as occupation "field worker" wouldn't fit. My Wadsleys are wealthy farmers, etc.

Sleaford is possible as occupation is "Independent" but all her neighbours are labourers and the like. Living at "Providence Square" Doesn't sound likely.

However, the 1833 one is b 1755. With a marriage in 1796 and children born from 1797 to 1807, she doesn't sound like the correct one either !

The Sleaford one fits best with those dates.

If you have any more thoughts, please let me know !

The one in Horbling in 1841 was born "out of county".  She is accompanied by a son(?) William 25 ... the IGI has a William bap at Horbling 1816, son of Richard and Ann.

I think she can safely be eliminated.

Do you have any idea what or where "Providence Square" was or is ?

(Assuming I've read the census form correctly)

Cornelius Wadsley (1758-1820) had obviously died by 1841 and only one child (John) had survived.

So if Ann was still alive by 1841 it is possible (likely) she would be living on her own.

However, I can't see her living amongst labourers and the like. But it would help if we knew something about this place of residence.

Just for information....
Although you have eliminated one candidate, I can throw a litte more light on the Horbling Ann Wadsley. Whilst she appears in my tree on a far branch of the Mould family, I have no concrete facts about birthplace etc.

She was born Ann Bosting, married Richard Wadsley and also had a son John Watson Wadsley b in Horbling 1814.
John Watson Wadsley married Ann Mould b 1811 Helpringham and had a daughter Elizabeth Wadsley b Swaton 1837.
Elizabeth Married a George Mould b 1836 Donington, who later emigrated to Canada.

Maybe no relation but I thought that you may be interested just in case you came across the names.
