I have searched the mining villages website,
http://www.mining-villages.co.uk/5.html , but cannot find him mentioned. It is mostly fatalties that are recorded. There was 215 killed at Blantyre on 22nd Oct 1877, any chance he worked there and was suffering from what todat post traumatic stress.
30 Oct 1871 - 4 killed by explosion at Bartonholm
19 Jan 1874 – 3 killed by roof fall at Rosehall
25 Feb 1875 - 3 suffocated by fire at Dalharco Pit, Patna
17 July 1875 - 3 killed by explosion at Drumpellier Coatbridge
30 Sept 1876 – 5 killed by boiler explosion at Fordell
21 Mar 1876 – 4 crushed by pulley at Stravenhouse
23 Jan 1877 - 4 killed in flood at Home Farm, Lanarkshire
22 Oct 1877 - At least 215 killed at Blantyre
5 Mar 1878 - 6 killed in fall at Blantyre
8 Mar 1878 - 17 killed by fire and explosion at Barrwood, Kilsyth
