1841,51,61,71 census - Howden area, please-COMPLETED WITH THANKS
« on: Friday 09 February 07 21:13 GMT (UK) »
Hello,
I am looking for the Simpson family on the 1841, 51, 61 & 71 census.  The family lived in the Howden area.

I have the following information from a birth certificate of Henrietta Simpson.
Henrietta Simpson was born in Howden in the January of 1847 to George Simpson & Margaret nee Hairsine (Harrison, Harsine)  George Simpson was a Plumber at the time.

I know from the Freebmd that Margaret Simpson died in 1852 in the Howden area.

On the 1881 census RG11 4737/110/14 George Simpson, was aged 68, born 1813, born in Booth, a Publican, living with a daughter called Sarah, aged 32, born 1849, in Howden.  Living in High Road, Asselby.

When George Simpson died in 1884 his address was the Percy Arms at Boothferry.  His will mentioned Sarah, Henrietta (who married William Richard Penrose Dale in 1873) and a son called George living at Airmin also an Innkeeper.  No more details of George.

I think George Simpsons father was called William Simpson a coachman & horsekeeper from Booth, but no more details of him as yet.

Any help given will be gratefully received.

Louise
