  can any one help me find the marraige of robert robson and margaret spottiswood(e) they married on the 24th november 1883 at alston according to my grandfathers birth certificate i cant seem to find anything on them any help would be great thanks tarka

   thanks very much thats been a great help looks like the dates have been wrong could i ask you if their parents names are there i have got 2 for robert and both tie in until the end

The date that you had for the marriage is probably correct.

The reference I posted means that the marriage occurred in the 4th quarter of 1883 - Oct, Nov, Dec - I'm afraid you would need the marriage certificate to find out the fathers' names (or a lookup in the appropriate church register).
