Hi Carol

Is it them in 1871 in Bristol and he is listed as a "Customs Officer"??
If so, he could have been at sea/on a vessel..

If he was dead where did the other 3 Girls in 1881 come form. They all have the surname Pitt. There is however a 7 year gap between first and second child.
Um another family mystery.
Thank you for your help

Hi Carol

Have you found him in the 1841/51/61/71 Census'?

If so, what was his occupation and what specifically did he put for birth place?

Bren

Think i found a remarriage which may explain a few things
Marriages Sep 1874
Pitt    Henry         St Saviour    1d   252
Pitt    Maria         St Saviour    1d   252
1st child to John b 1868 John died 1869
2nd child to Henry b 1875. Maria and Henry married 1874.
If i am right where is Henry in 1881 ?
