borman/burman
« on: Monday 05 February 07 08:00 GMT (UK) »
I'm researching borman/burman family from Lincolnshire.  I have the  details of Parson Burman(b 6 sep1771)  whose parents were John & Elizabeth(wakelin, I think.)   Is there any way to discover if  I have the correct parents & If so, who else was part of the family

John Burman married Elizabeth Wakelin in 1769 at Louth St James (source - Louthesk deanery marriages 1700-1837). That gives you a locality for further searches.

IGI batch C026281 has siblings- presume you meant Pearson.

Hi Bev,

I have an Elizabeth Borman m 1809 to William Stanley St James Louth although we suspect South Elkington or North Cockerington areas just outside Louth, Lincs.

Kind regards

The marriage was at Louth, Wm STANLEY was of South Elkington - register (top right) http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=523080&iid=120125

Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

Hi Geoff -E

I think you may have given me this information originally, so thank you for that and also for the link to the record. I noticed a bit further down the same page, there is an entry No 343, for the marriage between Thomas Lee & Elizabeth Stanley. William Stanley & Elizabeth Borman wedding was witnessed by an "Thomas Lee" so I will see if I can find any more information on him and his bride to see if they are related.

Kind regards Joan
