I have potential parents of Richard Halcroft/Houlcroft as
Richard Halcroft born around 1783 Cheshire and
mother is Sarah Wilson born around 1784 Cheshire.
I got both of these from familysearch.org

I believe 1783 would be too early because according to his head stone he was 80 when he died and he died 17 Nov 1890 which would make his birth about 1809 or 1810.
and one part of his convicts say he was born 1813 and another record says his date of trail was 12 jul 1826 at the age of 19

I think this would be Richard 

Richard HOULCROFT, age 19, Cotton Weaver, arrived 14 Feb 1827 under a life sentence.  Arrived on the Albion.   See Convict Indents NSW State Records

Hi,

There is a Richard "Houlcroft" who was given a life sentence for stealing money, in the Lancaster Quarter Sessions, 12 July 1826.   He was later transported to NSW on board the "Albion", 21 September 1826.  He received his Ticket of Leave on 1 July 1835 in Bathurst.

Not much help ...   but he hadn't applied for his conditional pardon by 1850 (still in superintendents office unapplied for - they have 3 months or else ....)
