I know that the above named was born in Crail on 21/04/1883 to Alexander McKenzie and Margaret Ritchie. He was Christened on 18/05/1833 but does not appear in the 1841 census return with the rest of the family.

I've checked the Sexton books for Crail and the LDS web site but have been unable to find any further trace of Alexander.

Can anyone give my any idea as to where I could try next.
Bayne, Dempsey, MacKenzie, McKay, McKenzie, Smith, Timmons, Watson

Alexander doesn't show with the family in the 1851 census either. I would image he died young, pre-1841.  Pre official registration in Scotland in 1855, hard for you to find concrete proof of this but highly likely this is what happened sadly.
