Restall - Piddle

I am researching Rowland RESTALL born 1846 in North Piddle. He married Elizabeth (I think also born in North Riddle in 1852). Their children are:- Annie, William, Ellen, Kate, Alice, Harriett, Agnes and Emily.
Any information would be most appreciated.

Rushall - Rastaff - Rastell - Restall - Rastall - Russel
This surname can be found in any of the above methods of spelling - at least that is my conclusion after researching my family. e.g.
George Rushall father of my great great grandmother is later shown as George Rastall.

My great great grandad William Stephens/Stevens married a Mary Rastall of North Piddle in 1830. Mary was the daughter of George and Ann Rastall and she married William Stephens on the 1st of November 1830 in St Michael's Church, North Piddle.

Their daughter Emma Stephens married a Charles Rastall in 1861 - on the 1871 census they are shown as Charles and Emma Russell.
From my understanding the Stephens and Rastall families are linked in several ways; as yet I have more researching to do on this name and it is very possible that Rowland/Roland had connections with my family - does all this mean anything to you?

Hello Tarkie
Just noticed your post and have discovered that my husbands gg grandparents were also William Stevens and Mary Rastall.
Their daughter Amelia Stevens(born 1852) married Thomas Handy and their daughter Mabel was my husbands grandmother. She married Thomas Woodward.
I don't know if i have this right but did Mary Stevens /Rastall also marry Charles Bartlett on 10 October 1855 in North Piddle.
If you have any more information i would be very interested.

hi my name is Joanne my step-nan is a descendant of Rowland & Elizabeth's daughter Kate 1880 - kate married Walter Face or Fack - she thinks they were married 21/6/1902 in Australia at Mt Ash, New South Wales

Just started my own research.  Kate and Walter Face were married in 1902 at Pontypridd.  They left London to come to Australia in 1913 on the ship Otway.  They had two children Lucy Myra born in England and Gwladys born 18 years later in Australia.  Lucy married James William Thorpe Joyce in 1904.  Lucy and James had 7 children.  The eldest, William Walter Joyce is my father.  Kate and Walter Face lived at Drysdale Estate, Bundamba, Queensland, Australia.  Kate died in 1968 and lived with James and Lucy at Sandgate, Australia until her death.  She was a fine old lady.
