Keturah -

Always give all you know - even if it's only approximate !  You probably know to 10 years or so when he was born - maybe you know his father's name from his marriage certificate?

The Swyncombe PRs have been transcribed by the Oxfordshire FHS www.ofhs.org.uk .  (When you're new to research in an area, always worth checking out the transcriptions by the local FHS.)

There is a William baptised in 1838 - is that the right time period?

There are no marriage certificates prior to 1837.

To find marriage details you must find the parish register for the church where the marriage took place.

Keturah,

You didn't say whether the 1838 baptism is what you are looking for - if it is, his parents are William and Susannah.   There are other instances of this couple baptising children (some possibly under the surname IRVING).

Hello Keturah,
I am linked to this Irwin family very distantly but have them back to 1799.  William Irwin 1838's parents were William 1801-1838 and Susannah Beckford. Susannah married again in 1843.
If you send me a private mail I will give you my email address and I can put you in touch with a direct descendant.
Regards
Vicwinann
