Gilmore / Gilmour, Creaney, glenavy
« on: Saturday 27 January 07 18:43 GMT (UK) »
Hi folks.
Trying to trace my wife's relatives from Glenavy, Thomas Gilmore and Mary Creaney, married in the Lisburn Registrar's Office on the 29 October 1866.
My wife's cousin told her that the family lived at Rose Lane Ends, Glenavy.
Regards,
DixieDee

Not part of my bunch I’m afraid. But if you Google Creaney + Glenavy you should bring up surviving fragments of the 1851 census for nearby Ballinderry & there are loads of Creaneys on it plus a couple of Gilmore families.

Hi Terry.
Thanks for your reply. Will try what you suggest.
I have about 150 Creaney / Craney, etc., and related on computer, not all are from Glenavy area. If you want I'll have a look-see.
Regards,
Dixie

Dixie....

Sorry , I thought I had sent you an email. I definenetely recognised a few though no definite relations yet but very useful as the research takes shape. I am meeting up with a couple of new found Creaneys next week & maybe some bells will start ringing.

I will keep in touch if anything arises.

Regards     terry

Hi Terry.
You did e-mail me as soon as you got the material. I was just wondering if you had had anymore hits, other than the one you mentioned.
See you have Moffets on your list. My aunt was married to a Moffet. The family owned the Balmoral Furniture Co., until it was bought by, I think, G.U.S., a lot of years ago. Most of that generation are buried in Newtownbreda Cemetery, at the top of the Ormeau Rd., Belfast. Think the family came from the Donegal Road, Belfast.
Regards,
Dixie
