My own interest is in earlier Birketts at Seathwaite - these ones may have been descended from them, but I haven't been able to make a connection yet ..

I've been researching my DIXON links since 2009, I too go back to the Cumbrian Dixons.... Earliest I can find is John Dixon c1696.

I too have Jane Dixon as b1801, married Thomas Birkett in 1827.

Jane's father was William Dixon (1755-1837)
and Jane's brother Daniel (1799-1871) is where I branch from.
Daniel Dixon also married a Birkett, Mary in 6/12/1819

I plan to go to Cumbria in the summer to do some more research.

There is more info on both families, and the transcript of Joseph's will of 1836, which mentions 7 daughters and 3 sons including Thomas as beneficiaries, that I can point you to; and the Dixon family are mentioned in Tyler's book, Honister Slate.

I'm also researching the DIXONs of Borrowdale.

My family tree also goes back to John Dixon born roughly late 1690s I think.

I was given a family tree by a relative I found on Genes Reunited which was researched by somebody in Australia and has many Australian Dixons... The name on the research is Adrian Wilson, Spence Act, Australia.

There are some NZ DIXONs mentioned too.....
Graham Dixon/Marion Shadford married in Auckland
Vivian Dixon/Amelia Best married in Christchurch
and many more.
