Edwin/Edward Welch
« on: Saturday 27 January 07 13:04 GMT (UK) »
Trying to find information on my grandfather Edwin Alfred Welch, normally known as Edward. Born in Luton 1883 but the family moved to London about 1900. Nothing is known of Edwin from 1916, when his wife Lilian Maude died in Deptford, until his death in 1958 at wandsworth.
Edwin also had a brother, Horace born Luton about 1890. Nothing is known of Horace since the 1901 census.

Could Horace have died in WW1?  You can search on www.cwgc.org.

Thank's for the replies. There is no direct match for Horace in WW1 casualties.

In the 1901 census there are two other Horace Welch's in my Horace's age group and general location. There's one in Luton and another in Hemel Hempstead. Gut feeling is that the one in Hemel Hempstead is the St Albans marriage.

Thanks again for the help.
