Yes - I am descended from Sophia Espie b. 1778, parents Wiliam Espie and Mary Johnson. Married Thomas McDonald of Crawford/Leadhills.
Ayrshire: McCormick (mack); McFadzean; Kerr; Brown; Paton; McGregor; McDonald; Moffat; Connel; Bone
Dumfries/Lanarks: (pre-1840) McDonald; Moffat; Bone; Hamilton; Hyslop; Sandiland; Bredwood; Kerr; Brown
Ireland (pre-1820) McCormick (Monaghan)

Forgot to say, we are descended from sophies brother, thomas, I think, will need to look out my stuff.

Sorry - have given you mis-information. Sophia's parents were William Espie and Mary Johnson. William Espie's parents were George Espie and Mary McCall.
I have been in touch with Flying Scot - We are both descended from sons of Sophia Espie and Thomas McDonald. Me through the eldest son, William b. 1799 and him through John b.1806.

I am trying to find Thomas Espie born around 1799, married jane black. Had children john, jane and james. John married elizabeth blackweir. Do you know this info at all?
