Thank you everyone who has answered this. Thank you patrish - I will look into that tomorrow.

Unfortunately it just says that Hannah and Abraham were born in Middlesex, England in 1861 and bizarrely both say that they weren't born in Middlesex in 1841. 

I don't know where to find the reference for 1861 - It's in Lambeth, Waterloo Road Second: John (70) and Hannah Braham (64) with their son Benjamin Braham (32) and a Thomas Jones (27). Sorry.

Dates are a little off but don't forget the 5 year rule in 1841 !!

I'm getting a little confused with your dates I think ........... 

Where did you get the birthdates for Abraham and Hannah and the children you listed Roma ? did you have them before you looked for census ? it's possible also they may have come here from another country .... have you checked into that angle at all ?

Sorry about the dates - that's definitely my fault. They dates may have been got from the 1841 Census so may be very off, it may also be my appalling maths skills. Hannah was almost certainly born in 1796 though as I have found her grave stone and it says she dies age 70 in 1866.

They may well have come over from another country. They were Sephardic Jews - I know that.

That is defintely the right Benjamin and that Edwin and William are his brothers. Thank you very much for that.

Where was Hannah buried ? In London ? does it say anything on the gravestone that may give you a clue ??

It was Maiden Lane Synagogue Burial Ground (Bancroft Rd). Not sure where that is though.
