Found him now on FreeBMD, volume 9d page 360I had tried Pashby, Pasby, Pashly, Pashley and drew a blank with them all.
As for SooCatt, I also followed up George Pashby in Brid but there's a George Pashby who dies in Brid in 1884 aged 3 years, so that rather ruled him out as my man went on to live long enough to marry (I believe!)
