Hi,
As WATSON is a fairly unusual first name I had a look and found two.
24 Sept 1880 Watson Kennedy married Isabella Houston in Ahoghill Church of Ireland, Ballymena.
19 Aug 1918  Watson Kennedy married Jane Greer in St. Annes Church of Ireland, Belfast.
The Father of the 1918 Watson was also Watson and the father of the 1880 Watson was William.

Thank you all so much.

You have found two marriages which seem relevant to my Kennedy family. :) :)

They must be father and son marriages.

Watson Kennedy and Isabella have a son Watson Kennedy, Aged 6, living at 13 Old Glenarm Road, Larne, Co. Antrim in the 1901 census provided to me by another very helpful Rootschatter.

I wonder what became of the son Watson and his wife Jane. My grandparents Hessie Kennedy and Charles Taylor were married at St. Anne's, Belfast so I think the young Watson must have been my grandmother's brother.

I have just looked through my notes and found a record I downloaded ages ago. It is a death record for Watson Kennedy - date of death - 1/12/1961. He was 68, married, a labourer, living at 5 Matlock Street.  He is buried in Glenalina Cemetery and the grave owner is down as JEAN KENNEDY.  I had no idea who Jean Kennedy was but with you finding a marriage for a Watson Kennedy to a Jean Greer this grave may be that of my grandmother Hessie's brother.

The trouble with family researching, it goes on and on with lots of surprises. Thanks

Maeabbie

Thanks also for giving me Watson Kennedy senior's father's name of William.

Hi I am interested in the fact that your mum was born at 6 Disraeli street as I have a relation born at that same address in 1919.  Her mum was Jane Taylor so I dont know if you know of any connection??

Hi

Do you know if Jane Taylor was her married name please?  If Jane Taylor was her married name she may have been married to Watson Taylor. Jane Taylor's maiden name was Greer. Does this ring any bells.

Looking forward to hearing from you. My mum died last year in June.

Taylor definitely looks to be her maiden name  - her occupation is listed as a grinder.  Unfortunately this is all I know, unless she came to stay with relations and could be a cousin of your mums?

Hi

Are you able to tell me more about the relation of Jane Taylor please?

My e-mail is:  (*)

I live in England. My mother, Elizabeth Taylor, married an Englishman and settled the rest of her life in  England.

My mum's father's sister was Jane Taylor but the date of birth would not match with your Jane Taylor.

I just feel there must be some connection with being born at the same house as mum.  It's just getting the right pieces to fit.

Because I live in England it is not so easy to find information out without going to the records office in Belfast. Where do you live please?

Look forward to hearing more about your Jane Taylor's family.

Regards
Maeabbie
