I have just received a reply from Mt. Jerome, which confirms the conclusion I reached yesterday.
"The number 897 is a reference for the photo and has no relevance to Mount Jerome. Mary Cooke died 14/03/1924 aged 79, she died at 184 Rathgar Road and was a single lady. I hope this is of some help to you, if not please get back to me."
So "myluck!" you were right on the ball, inc. the Rawsons, thanks again.
I will now concentrate on finding out all I can about John Jones of Kildare, and I believe his Dublin address was Jervais St. (not Jervis).
Again many thanks for all the help I received.
Ken

I have just started a new rootschat topic-
John Jones of Jervais St. Dublin and Oldtown, Co. Kildare
Let's hope that we find out more about this elusive Welshman (?) and his family.

Just an additional on this - I found a catholic relatives that died prior to 1923 buried in Mount Jerome as there were mixed marriages and they used family graves. Don't just rule out Mount Jerome as a possibility for catholics pre-1923!!

This is a link to photos from Mount Jerome

http://www.igp-web.com/igparchives/ire/dublin/photos/tombstones/mt-jerome-ndx.htm
If you use the text file you can use [ctrl] & [F] on your keyboard to activate the find dialogue box and type the name you require to search; tedious but effective! Then with the photo number look at the relevant file of photos.
Many graves in Mount Jerome are unmarked however.

Yes.

Even now  if you use the text file you can use [ctrl] & [F] on your keyboard to activate the find dialogue box and type the name you require to search it still works!!

I am doing a One Name Study on the Horseman / Horseman families,  and whilst many of the family who lived in Dublin are buried at Glasnevin,  I have discovered that Martin and his wife Caroline Horsman / Horseman were buried at Mt. Jerome.
Martin died in 1861 and Caroline in 1879
They are in grave C112-2689
The office have told me that they have a headstone.
Would anyone be able to photograph it for me?
The map on the cemetery web site shows where section 112 is located.

Thanks in anticipation
Sue
