Hi Shirl
It's me again.Would it be too cheeky to ask if you have access to the 1851 census to see if either of John/Isabella were still in Nth Bedburn and does it show their ages and birthplaces please?
I presume the1841 census shows they were from Co Durham.
Many thanks again

Hi again

Had a quick look on ancestry.co.uk and neither of them appear to be shown in the 1851 census (it's not always 100% accurate though when you are searching), nothing on the 1851 census on the durhamrecords online site either. There are a couple of possible death records assuming they died before 1851

Isabella poss July-Sep 1845 Auckland District (which covers N Bedburn)
John either Apr - Jun 1845, or Jan - Mar 1846 both Auckland District

Good luck searching

Hi

Forgot to add the 1841 census only says whether the birthplace was in the county or not (both were "in county"

Hi Shirl
Thanks for your info on my Bulmans of Durham.I've been diverted a bit in the last few weeks. You kindly gave me the 1841 census details of John and Isabella at Iwing at Macneal,St Andrew,Auckland ,North Bedburn.Would you be able to tell me if both or either were still there on in the village in 1851 please?Incidentally is North Bedburn is close to Hamsterley?.Re your second message I am inclned to believe that 'our' Isabella was the dtr. of Thos.Dunn and Mary Blenkinsop .Enumerators didn't always get the detail right on the census forms.I understand Witton le Wear and Hamsterley are close to one another.
Just following the IGI I can go back another two generations down  the maternal line in Hamsterley.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards
Dennis

Hi Dennis

I did a quick search on the Genealogist of all Bulman's living in Durham 1851 and nothing for John or Isabella so I think they had probably died by then (there was nothing on Durham records online either).

Looking on the genuki site for Durham, Hamsterley is 2 miles from Witton le Wear, and 2 miles from Bedburn (couldn't see a North Bedburn), so all very close. Hamsterley parish comprises of Hamsterly and South Bedburn.

Good luck with your searching, and from time to time we all need lots of luck!

Many thanks Shirl
As you say we all need a little luck but an Archivist once told me that pre-registration we sometimes must work on the balance of.
 probabilities.
Thanks again and good luck with your research
I'm also looking in Shropshire but not for any of the names on your list
