Hello
I might know the answer to the Humphrey’s / Humphries link , I believe one or maybe more of the Humphries/ Humphrey’s moved/ retired to I O M as he made his money running a butchers shop in Oldham.
I only recently got told this story by my Dad, and I could never understand why some of my family went to I O M.
They were all very friendly and probably used the ferry I fair bit.
Not certain if this helps

Just came across the site and entry re Sanabury. Reading through the threads the names I'm reading are familiar to me, i.e Robina who went to NZ, was May Nans Aunt I believe. My Nan ( Amy Sanabury) had a Brother known as Reggie, and sisters Vera and Irene. I recall stories of a link to a family member being something to do with the ferry service, which I see mentioned amongst the threads.
